Frog Rewind 2022: a green year under the tree 🌲

"The old year is over now, but something is still wrong here." Besides being poetic, Lucio Dalla's words sound prophetic in this ramshackle '22. But we, who are incurable optimists, wanted to try to change the focus and let go for a moment of the worries that unite us all, in the unfortunate space-time conjuncture we are experiencing as a Country and Planet in this closing of the year, and to focus on our "small" and greener observatory. How have we grown in Frog Learning this year? What has changed? Where would we like to go now? Let's try a dear old list, which is now a tradition.

Ready for Frog Rewind 2022?

The Christmas lights are shyly beginning to twinkle again despite the period of austerity, and in us, who somewhat aptly reason by bulleted lists and drawn sums, the urge for the end-of-year “recapitulation” has once again made its way in. To understand how our 2022 has gone and to take a sharper picture of the current situation than we will be able to do between toasts in the frenzy of celebration ahead.

More frogs in the pond

Like tadpoles in the pond, we, too, are now hard to count. Exaggerations aside, 2022 also brought us first of all 6 wonderful new colleagues. In strict chronological order, new froggers who have joined us include:
Maurizio
, web developer from Parma by birth but Scottish in appearance, among the earliest “froggers” that the history of E-learning remembers. With the beautiful season has also come
Giampietro
, a calm, peaceful and very elegant instructional designer of Venetian birth, who brought with him the recipe for the perfect spritz and an innate green thumb that will lift the fortunes of our little “greenhouse.” Next came
Valentina
, a digital learning manager who encapsulates the sunshine of her Apulia region in her smile, able to dilute any obstacle with her under-the-table snack peddling, switching from healty to junk food with enviable nonchalance. How not to mention
David
, junior support manager? For of good giants we are never satiated: student-worker of the kind who deserves a standing ovation, by the way the best in English class, but unforgivably measured at lunchtime. Then there is
Louis
, what can we say? An undiscovered instructional design talent, a philosopher inside and out, an Irpinian by birth, a generous dispenser of seasonal fruit. To conclude, could we have missed a round of samba? Of course not, and so a few weeks ago we also welcomed
Tirso
, IT Support Manager transplanted to Noceto directly from Mato Grosso, who, wise and sly, infects us day by day with his serenity.

If that is not enough for you, know that two more tiny frogs have entered the world in recent months, making us all very proud uncles ❤️. Bravo to the new moms Vale and Eli.

We networked

When it comes to getting to know new realities and exchanging ideas we are always ready, which is why this year has also been particularly prolific in terms of collaborations and partnerships activated. We met and teamed up with
Polimi Graduate School of Management
, deepened our expertise
Betty Blocks
, enriched collaborations with
Casco Learning
and combined our expertise with the offerings of
Goodhabitz
. Much more is boiling in the pot, and we look forward to new projects coming to fruition.

We made ourselves even more beautiful

We had started last year, with the redesign of
our website
, and this year we completed the work by enriching our web showcase with sections and content. We have doubled the frequency of news publication in our
blog
on E-learning and the IT world (did you read us?) and, finally, we have also dedicated ourselves by creating our own corporate intranet. On social media, we had fun with the new edition of
Frogabolario
(video pills about the E-Learning world in which we played the role of actors, to the delight of many 😊) and with the vignettes of “
The Boiled Frog
“, devised together with that genius of
Fogliazza
.

Projects & co

In the meantime, what did we do? A thousand things, come to think of it. We launched
Moocca
as a customizable and continuously expanding E-learning course catalog . We replicated
Moodle for Business
, a training course created in 2021 to learn about and make the most of the full potential of the world’s most popular Learning Management System, Moodle.

Thanks to
Len
we had the opportunity to take part in the first edition of “
Microlearning
“, the largest live microlearning event in Italy, with the workshop “Branching: you got the name, E-learning courses didn’t.”

And then we learned…

In the end, again this year we devoted part of our time to team training, in-person and distance, getting busy with courses in English, Accessibility, UX/UI.

Those who taught us a lot, then, were the clients, the projects, the challenges with which we measured ourselves and from which, all in all, we came out alive this round as well 😊.

Now we just have to start the toasts. Cin-cin 🥂

Microlearning: definition, application and examples

Have you ever heard of microlearning?Attention is the key element in training. No doubt about it. We could design the most useful, immersive, and interactive course ever created, but if we can’t catch (and maintain) the users’ attention, it will all be pointless. If we want to keep their attention until the very end, there’s only one solution: shorten the course.
